Amelia Earhart takes off as the next Councilor to join DomiNations.
From the moment her first flight took off in December of 1920, Amelia Earhart knew that she belonged in the sky. She picked up odd jobs to pay for private flying lessons, and eventually saved up enough money to earn her pilot’s license and purchase her own plane. A mere two days after receiving her license, Earhart competed in the Pacific Coast Ladies' Derby - a competition used to convince the public of women’s ability to stand alongside men in the pursuit of the sky - where she more than proved her talents. She set records for flight speed and altitude, not just among women, but among all aviators. Her willpower and dedication to her craft continued to drive her as she broke down the doors traditionally closed to women of the time.
