Greetings Leaders,

As 2025 comes to a close and we head into the holiday break, we wanted to reflect on all our accomplishments before setting our sights on 2026. It’s easy to lose track of everything that went into DomiNations this year! We released 10 updates, each bringing more ways to enjoy the game and expand your strategies. While we take some time to celebrate the past year, we’ll also give you a glimpse of our goals as we head into the future.

2025 in Review

We last addressed our plans for 2025 in March. We’re proud to say that we've completed most of these objectives, and in some cases, even taken them a step further!

2025 QoL Updates
Our quality-of-life updates were projects that we sourced from Player requests to implement alongside our new content releases. The work selected this year was based first on the priority of the request, as determined by player frequency and gameplay impact, and then on the size of the task to determine if it could fit alongside our new content schedule. It was also vital for us to balance the needs of our later Age players while improving the overall health of the game. Some QoL updates, for example, required that our New content be implemented first, as it would change how those fixes would be applied. Some examples include Museum Showcases, Strikes, and Detachments.

Looking back:

We wanted to remove some of the obstacles that prevented players from actually playing the game and spending too much time micromanaging our many systems. As such, we implemented the ability to claim all your event rewards with the press of a button, and implemented SpeedUp Auto-fill to quickly utilize an efficient amount of your stored SpeedUps to clear through upgrades.

We added the ability to delete and rename your bases. This work was an extension of the massive shift to our new Account system that worked in conjunction with DomiNations World. Some of you sought to start anew, or didn’t quite like the name you were stuck with, and didn’t want to start from scratch just for a name update. Before this update, it led to what we thought was an unnecessarily complicated process to make these changes. So we implemented tools to do so easily on your own!

Our quality-of-life fixes also led us to address some long-standing issues. We made some improvements to our replay system to help generate a more accurate view of attacks on your base. While this work is an ongoing process, we’ve made significant strides in 2025 to improve the system stability. There were also fixes to the Museum Loadout system that eliminated the need to reset your Artifact setups with each World War.

Finally, we tackled the University/Alliance SpeedUps and how Troop Donations are displayed. Troop Donations had an issue where it appeared that Players weren’t receiving Troops up to their full capacity. This was brought on by how the Troop Donation tray displayed totals in Alliance Chats. Additionally, the discovery of Alliance Chat instability confirmed the reports of disappearing Troop Donations and SpeedUp Requests. To address these issues, we established a checkpoint within Alliance Chats that made those requests more reliable and accurate.

Showcases and Mythicals

Before addressing the Museum Loadout issues, we needed to make a thorough examination of the Museum system as a whole. Implementing the Showcase system helped us to lay the groundwork for easier updates to the Museum in the future. The crafting rule improvement to allow for a genuine ‘god roll’ Artifact also helped to support the benefits of the Showcase system. Now you can utilize all of the Legendary Artifacts and the new Mythical Artifacts to varying degrees, and it doesn’t limit your unused Legendary Artifacts to Museum resource fodder.

To add to the excitement, we made almost all Legendary Artifacts available at any time for Legendary Tokens. We’ve also increased the rate at which you can collect Legendary Tokens as well, speeding up the chase for New Mythical and Legendary Artifacts.

Combat Rebalance Initiative

Our Combat Rebalance Initiative kicked off this year by making adjustments to Fighters, returning them to their intended role of defender clearing. Our next pass made adjustments to War Tactics and introduced benefits to Assault Vehicles in the Artifact crafting pool. Then our final combat rebalance of 2025 addressed Bombers.

New Features

This year, we introduced Detachments to add a layer of strategy to your Troop Deployments. Quests build upon your daily play experience by offering rewards and creating an expanded onboarding experience for new players. Strike revitalizes your Museum Main Hall by giving it significance beyond raiding for resources. Showcases add the ability to double down on the strengths of Legendary and Mythical Artifacts.

We rounded out the year 2025 with the Release of Robotics Age, which brought Commanders, a customizable unit that provides extra benefits to Detachments. Robotics Age will be the final Age for a while, as we’re not working on a new Age in 2026, though you’ll still have plenty to upgrade well into this Age! For now, we’ll be spending quite a bit of time in Robotics Age before we even start thinking about what will be included in the currently named ‘Intelligence Age’.

DomiNations World Updates

On the DomiNations World front, we’ve released an early access version of DomiNations World Trivia, a new experience on the website that offers a new reward path for DomiNations through the Prize Booth. We’re also aiming to add even more experiences that add to your core DomiNations game.

Expanding DomiNations Content

Our late-game players have been experiencing the Robotics Age, a new Library Bookcase, an updated League Chest, and Boat rewards from Exploration. One of our latest buildings, the Manufactory, received an expanded Munitions upgrade path, adding even more opportunities to bolster your Troops and Defenses. We’ve added a total of 17 New Legendary Artifacts and 12 New Councilors for you to collect in 2025, and we still have plenty more to add to that list.

We thank you for all the continued support throughout 2025. A significant amount of content was developed for DomiNations this year, and all of it helped lay the foundations for our goals in 2026. Players throughout the year continued to provide invaluable feedback on the new features, and even how older features have been affected by the various changes we’ve introduced. We’ve always compiled this feedback into a database and have done our best to find opportunities to implement it while working on our larger-scale projects. Some of the things we’d like to address would only be possible if we made larger commitments to tackling them, and fortunately, 2026 is just the right time!

Plans for 2026

In 2026, we’ll be primarily focused on retuning and updating already existing content. However, you can still expect new Robotics Age upgrades, new Skins and Shaders for Commanders, new Councilors, and new Legendary and Mythical Artifacts. This is a year for us to focus on overall game stability and bug fixes!

We’re not quite ready to commit to specific dates for our goals at this time, but as the year progresses, we’ll update you on these release windows.

Combat Rebalance Initiative & Spying

Our next Combat Rebalance Initiative will address a comprehensive overhaul of Coalitions. Every Coalition will see a completely updated set of bonuses. This will be a significant change that serves as a temporary stopping point before our next Combat Rebalance pass, allowing us to focus on other adjustments in 2026.

We’re also planning an update to Spying, where you’ll finally be able to view Council, Showcase, and Manufactory information.

SpeedUp Assists & Troop Donations

As a part of our ‘Tap less play more’ philosophy, we’re introducing a way to assist all available SpeedUp requests within your Alliance chat via a single tap.

Early next year, we’re also looking to make Troop Donations easier by eliminating the need to train the Troops you donate!

New Parliament Branches

We are planning to introduce three new Parliament branches that cover Manufactory, Councilor benefits, University Research, and Mysterious Fragments. We’ve heard that many Alliances have been looking for us to expand the Parliament and offer additional bonuses that align with recent releases, and we’ll be addressing that next year!

QoL Update

With our quality-of-life updates, we aim to bring renewed excitement for DomiNations veterans and improve the experience for newcomers.

  • -85% Reduction Cap rework

  • Hall Specific Crafting

    • Craft War or Main Hall Artifacts whenever you like, instead of waiting for Lucky Peace or Lucky War Hall events.

  • Artifact favoriting and sorting

  • Chamber Specific mercy Councilor fusion

    • Receive a councilor from the hall of your choosing after your 25th fusion!

Strike Updates

Strike will continue to evolve in 2026! We’re developing a long-term way to invest in your overall Base and army development for Strike Attacks beyond just your upgrades and Museum/Councilor stats. We’ll share more details on the future of Strike as they become available.

Commanders Updates

We’re expanding the ways you can obtain cosmetics. Commanders will also see an expanded experience; they’re powerful allies that can really turn the tide of a battle, and we’re looking to improve on their focal points this year as you continue to develop them.

Other Goals

  • “Tap less, play more.” Continued

    • We’ll be looking out for more opportunities where we can reduce unnecessary tapping and get you back to playing faster!

  • Tournament of Glory Adjustments

    • With the most recent ToG updates, we’ll continue to monitor the landscape and make adjustments accordingly.

  • Replay Improvements

    • This will continue to be an ongoing effort. As we bring tweaks and updates to DomiNations, we also need to make adjustments to the Replay system. Despite making some incremental improvements in 2025, we’re still not satisfied with the state of replays, and there is still work that we’d like to do.

2026 is shaping up to be a stellar year! With your help, we’ll be making efforts to improve key aspects of the DomiNations experience. We’ll be sure to update any changes or additions to the plans for 2026 as they become available. As always, please continue to provide feedback. While some things may not be immediately addressable for us, we’re still taking note and doing our best to implement improvements to the core player experience. For now, enjoy the holiday break. We’ll be taking some much-needed rest and return in 2026 with renewed energy and excitement for the future of DomiNations and Big Huge Games!
