Data Deletion Policy

This Data Deletion Policy is designed to provide data subjects („you”, “user”, “end-user”, “customer”, “your”, “yours”) with information on the processing of their personal data (any information relating to them) and describes how Big Huge Games Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates ("BHG", "us", "our" or "we") handle the deletion of information that we collect through our websites, games, mobile apps, and other interactive software products and services that we operate and that link to this Data Deletion Policy (collectively, our “Services”).  This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy (bighugegames.com/privacy-policy) and Terms of Service (bighugegames.com/terms-of-use).

1. Overview

At Big Huge Games, we respect your right to control your personal data. This Data Deletion Policy (“Policy”) explains what happens when you request the deletion of your account and associated data including how we handle personal information, in-game purchases, and virtual currency.

This Policy applies to all players of all BHG games across any platform.

2. What You Can Request We Delete

You may submit a deletion request for the following data we hold about you:

Account Data. Information associated with your player account, including your display name, username, password, and linked third-party social login identifiers (e.g., Google, Apple ID, Facebook.)

Profile, Contact and Communications Information.  Information you provide to us during registration or gameplay, including your name, email address, phone number, contacts from your device address book or social media accounts, and any correspondence you send to us. 

Technical and Usage Data. Information related to your device and use of our services, such as IP address logs, device identifiers, and gameplay data.

3. In-Game Purchases & Virtual Currency

Please read this section carefully before submitting a deletion request.

Virtual currency and purchased items are non-transferable and non-refundable upon account deletion. When your account is permanently deleted:

  • All virtual currency balances (e.g., coins, gems, tokens) will be permanently forfeited.

  • All purchased in-game items, bundles, cosmetics, and unlocks will be permanently forfeited.

  • Any active subscriptions or season passes tied to your account will be cancelled. Refunds for unused subscription portions will be handled in accordance with applicable law, including EU consumer protection regulations. If you are located in the EU or UK, please contact us to discuss your options before requesting deletion.

If you made purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and believe you are entitled to a refund, you must contact Apple or Google directly.

4. Data We Are Required to Retain

Even after a deletion request is fulfilled, we may be legally required to retain certain records for a limited period. This includes:

  • Transaction records, including purchase history, required for tax, accounting, and fraud prevention purposes (typically retained for up to 7 years in accordance with applicable law).

  • Legal compliance records, including data needed to respond to ongoing disputes, investigations, or legal obligations.

  • Security and fraud prevention data, including data required to detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

  • Aggregated, anonymized analytics data that cannot be linked back to you as an individual.

This retained data will not be used to re-identify you or for any marketing purposes. In accordance with our Privacy Policy (Section VI), we may also retain records of privacy requests (other than the erasure request itself) for between 24 months and 5 years, as required by applicable legislation. 

In addition, under applicable law (including GDPR Art. 17(3)), the right to erasure may not apply where processing is necessary for: (a) compliance with a legal obligation; (b) the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims; (c) reasons of public interest or (d) other grounds permitted under applicable data protection laws. Where one of these exceptions applies, we will inform you and process your data only to the extent permitted by law. 

Where we have shared your personal data with third-parties(as described in our Privacy Policy), we will notify those recipients of your erasure request and request that they delete your data, unless this proves impossible or involves disproportionate effort.

5. How to Submit a Deletion Request

You can request deletion of your account and data through any of the following methods:

In-App (DomiNations or other applicable BHG Game): Navigate to Settings → Delete Account and follow the on-screen prompts.

By Email: Send a request to support@bighugegames.com with the subject line "BHG Data Subject Request." Please include your registered email address and in-game player ID so we can locate your account.

Web Form: Submit a request via our Support Portal at https://bighugegameshelp.zendesk.com/hc/en/.

To protect your account, we may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request. This may include confirming information associated with your account, such as details of your in-game progress, or requesting purchase receipts (if applicable). We will use such information solely for verification purposes..

6. Processing Timeline

We will acknowledge your deletion request within 5 business days of receipt.

We will subsequently provide you with information on the action taken with regard to your request without undue delay and in any event within 30 days of receipt of your deletion request. If your request is particularly complex or you have submitted multiple simultaneous requests, we may extend this period by a further two months. We will notify you of any such extension within the initial 30-day period and explain the reason for the delay. In case a legal hold or active investigation requires us to retain your data for a longer period, we will also notify you.

Where we require identity verification, we will contact you promptly with details of the information needed. If you provide the required verification, we will complete the deletion without undue delay. If you do not provide the information required to verify your identity within a reasonable time, or if you decline to do so, we will not be able to process your deletion request. In that case, we will notify you in writing within the 30-day period that your request is being declined pending verification, and explain what information is needed. You may re-submit your request at any time once you are able to provide the required verification, at which point a new 30-day period will begin. During the processing period, your account will be deactivated and inaccessible to other players. You will not be able to log in, make purchases, or recover any data once deletion is confirmed

Deletion is permanent and irreversible. We strongly recommend that you download or note any information you wish to keep before submitting a request.

7. Right to Withdraw a Pending Request

You may cancel a deletion request at any time before it has been fully processed by contacting us at support@bighugegames.com. Once deletion is complete, we cannot restore your account or any associated data.

8. Regional Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or port your data before deletion. Players in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, California, and other applicable regions may exercise these rights by contacting us at the address below. 

Requests on behalf of minors: If you are a parent or guardian requesting deletion of a minor's account, please indicate this in your request and provide verification of your relationship to the minor. We may require additional documentation consistent with our Privacy Policy Section VIII (Children's Privacy). 

EEA and UK players (GDPR/UK GDPR): You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (e.g., in the UK: the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk; in the EU: your national data protection authority). 

California players (CCPA/CPRA): In addition to the right to deletion, California consumers may also (i) opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; (ii) correct inaccurate personal information; and (iii) limit use of sensitive personal information. To exercise these rights, please refer to the California Privacy Rights section of our Privacy Policy or contact us at the details in Section 9.
